Synthesis of Organoalkoxysilanes: Versatile Organic–Inorganic Building Blocks

Organic–inorganic building blocks are an important class of hybrid materials due to the synergistic versatility organic compounds with robust properties inorganic materials. Currently, growing interest in silica modify physical and chemical network has led increasing organoalkoxysilanes. A general formula R-[Si-(OR’)3]n, OR’ as a hydrolysable alkoxy group R acting functional (n ≥ 1), precursors for many molecules. By introducing adequate moieties (R), organoalkoxysilanes effectively engage surface matrix modification silica-based smart-responsive units, coupling agents, targeting moieties, bioactive etc., opening promising applications, specifically biomedical ones. Several synthetic procedures have been established introduce alkoxysilane including hydrosilylation, reactions, addition reactions isocyanates. Herein, we review routes relationship between structural features design appropriate specific applications.

5- hydroxyisoquinoline undergoes a smooth reaction with alkyl propiolates in the presence of triphenylphosphine (15 mol%) to produce the corresponding (E)-alkyl 3-(isoquinolin-5-yloxy) acrylate in good yields. When the reaction was performed by 2-methyl 4-hydroxyquinoline and 3-nitro 4-hydroxypyridine, similar aryl vinyl ethers were obtained.
